This was the 11th show Metallica has played in Louisiana. The first time they played in Louisiana was on May 6, 1986 in New Orleans at Lakefront Arena on the Master of Puppets tour while opening for Ozzy Osbourne.
The last time Metallica performed in New Orleans was on November 23, 2004 at the New Orleans Arena on the Madly in Anger With the World tour.
Metallica has played Louisiana on the following tours: Damage, Inc., Damaged Justice, Wherever We May Roam, Guns ‘N Metallica, Lollapalooza, Poor Touring Me, and Madly in Anger With the World.
This was the first time that The Thing That Should Not Be was performed in Louisiana.
This was the first time that Hit the Lights was performed in Louisiana.
